INOKIM ELECTRICSCOOTER
MYWAY – INOKIM – STARTING YEARS
It would be hard to find a brand that has contributed more to the electric micro-mobility revolution than Inokim. Myway (later rebranded as Inokim) began as a garage project in 2009, leading to the creation of the first modern electric scooter, crafted by award-winning designer and entrepreneur Nimrod Riccardo Sapir. The goal of the project was to address urban over-reliance on cars by creating an electric scooter as an alternative means of transportation. This scooter could easily be taken into an office or home and wouldn’t make the rider sweat as a bicycle would. Electric scooters would reduce cities’ carbon footprint and help alleviate traffic congestion. The prototype shown in the image below demonstrated to everyone that such electric scooters are indeed possible and highly practical in urban environments.
In 2011, a second very important prototype was completed – the Myway Quick, which took the Myway Company from a garage project to a company that has now grown into a production model – the Quick 1. The Quick was already like a fully modern electric scooter – brushless DC motor, aluminium frame and quick to pack. In addition, the electric scooter was also equipped with a lithium-ion battery, a technology at the time still only found in smaller devices such as smartphones and laptops.
Getting from prototype to a production-ready model and getting production up and running was certainly not easy for Myway as one of the first electric light bike start-ups – it took 2 years. Production of the Myway Quick 1 electric scooter started in 2013, initially in very modest conditions, but it was soon possible to significantly increase production capacity as the product instantly became a superstar. The Quick 1’s fame spread around the world and, realising the genius of the idea, Myway had many competitors who began to copy the Quick model. Myway has also produced a video about the early days.
RECENT HISTORY
In 2015, the Light model was launched. In the meantime, the Myway brand has also been renamed Inokim, which means “speed” in Japanese. So the new model was no longer called Myway, but Inokim Light electric scooter. The name of the company remained the Myway name – Ningbo Myway Intelligent Technology Co. Unlike the Quick, the Light model was smaller, lighter and even faster to fold. The Light was the first electric scooter in the world that was also suitable for children and, like the Quick 1, was a great success.
In 2017, the company went after the market for even smaller electric scooters and the Inokim Mini electric scooter was launched. This electric scooter was, and still is, the smallest and lightest electric scooter, weighing just 8.5kg. The Mini was the first in the world to be equipped with small wheels mounted on the front of the stand, allowing the scooter to stand upright when folded. It also allowed the scooter to be towed on a trolley.
In 2018, as the electric light bike revolution was about to take off, Inokim came out with its most legendary model to date – the OX electric scooter – with a unidirectional handlebar and rims reminiscent of an aircraft jet engine. The Inokim OX and the later OXO electric scooter are the most powerful, fastest and longest-range models to date. The OX electric scooters are also equipped with height-adjustable suspension for the best ride comfort.
Today, Inokim has expanded its network of importers to more than 30 countries. As one of the first electric scooter brands, Inokim electric scooters have been on the market in Estonia since 2017.
MODELS AT TÕUKSIMAAILM
Inokim OX Hero and OX Super electric scooters
The Inokim OX Hero and OX Super electric scooters are the most eye-catching in the Inokim electric scooter range. Both scooters are equipped with powerful 1000W motors and feature Inokim’s patented ultra-smooth suspension, which provides both the best ride quality and the best stability at high speeds. With three different suspension heights, every rider can choose the one that suits them best.
All of Inokim’s electric scooters are very durable and high quality, and the OX Hero and Super electric scooters are especially so. Despite the lack of a waterproof IP rating, both electric scooters are very weatherproof and can be ridden freely in spring, summer, autumn and winter – sun, snow and rain.
Inokim’s OX Hero electric scooter is equipped with a 780Wh battery and the OX Super electric scooter has a much larger 1392Wh battery. The Hero has a range of 40-60km and the Super 70-110km on a single charge. The OX electric scooters are suitable for people who want to use an electric scooter as a replacement for a car as their main means of transport or for longer journeys.
The Inokim OX frame is made from aerospace-grade aluminium alloy and is very durable. The OX has a wide lens and comes with seriously comfortable handles. The handlebars are also high, which makes the OX very comfortable for tall and heavy people (the weight limit of the scooter is 120kg). As an innovative solution, the lights of the Inokim OX are automatically controlled by a dusk sensor integrated in the display throttle. This way, when switching on the scooter in the dark, there is no need to look for the button to switch on the lights.
Inokim OXO electric scooter
The Inokim OXO is Inokim’s flagship model and the fastest and most powerful electric scooter in the Inokim range. Unlike the OX, the Inokim OXO electric scooter is equipped with not one but two motors. The second motor is mounted in place of the front wheel. The two powerful motors ensure that this electric scooter is ideal for off-road or forest riding.
Unlike the OX, the Inokim OXO electric scooter is also equipped with the top efficiency Zoom hydraulic disc brakes and an even larger battery with a capacity of 1536Wh. The battery is made from high quality LG battery modules and allows up to 110km on a single charge.
The Inokim OXO is for the person who wants to be part of the cutting-edge technology of electric scooters and get the most-precise electric scooter. There’s no need to worry about tyres when you choose the OXO, as this electric scooter is available from the factory with both road and off-road tyres.
Inokim Quick 4 Hero and Quick4 Super electric scooter
The Inokim Quick 4 Hero and Quick4 Super electric scooters are the newest models in the Inokim range, released in 2021. The Quick 4 electric scooters are ideal for people who want to travel in style and comfort, who use their scooter as a constant replacement for a car, and who need a much more compact electric scooter than the OX.
The Inokim Quick 4 electric scooter has a powerful 600W motor, which is perfectly adequate for the urban conditions where this scooter belongs. The powerful motor can handle even the steepest climbs and hills. Like the OX series, the Quick 4 electric scooters are also equipped with front and rear doors. The most striking feature of the electric scooter is the new information display, a first in the history of electric scooters in terms of size.
The Quick4 Hero electric scooter is equipped with a 676Wh battery and the Quick 4 Super electric scooter has an 832Wh battery. The Hero electric scooter is capable of 50-58km on a fully charged battery and the Super 55-70km. The Quick range of electric scooters are also designed to be as maintenance free as possible. That’s why the Quick4 models are equipped with front and rear drum brakes that do not require constant adjustment and replacement of brake pads.
Safety has also been brought to a new level. The Inokim Quick 4 electric scooter is made of a sturdy aluminium 6061 T6 alloy frame, which ensures a robust construction. The scooter is also equipped with an automatic park mode, which electrically “locks” the scooter after it has been stationary for 30 seconds. This helps to prevent accidental pressing of the accelerator button and unwanted starting of the scooter.
Inokim Light 2 Hero and Light 2-Super electric scooter
Inokim Light 2 Hero and Light-2 Super electric scooters are the smallest and most compact Inokim electric scooters available in the Inokim range. Thanks to their easily adjustable handlebar height, the Lights are particularly suitable for children and young people.
What makes the Inokim Light electric scooter even more special is that it is available in a wide range of colours – black, yellow, green, blue and white. So every customer will find a Light scooter to match their coat colour.
In terms of compactness, the Inokim Light electric scooter is the next level in the world of electric scooters. The Light Hero and Super electric scooters fold together at the bottom of the stand, thus moving the front wheel of the electric scooter towards the rear, which helps to achieve the smallest possible electric support wheel length. Also, the handlebars with the handlebar tubes are moved as close as possible to the rear wheel base – thus achieving maximum low height. The Light also has folding handles to ensure minimum width. The result is the most compact electric scooter in its class.
The Inokim Light Hero and Super electric scooter has a compact lens with very stylish and comfortable handles. The Light without brushes (BLDC) electric motor has a power of 250W, which is sufficient for a successful urban ride – the maximum gradient on the road is 15%. The high-efficiency electric motor provides powerful acceleration and reaches a top speed of 25km/h quickly. The Light Hero and Super electric scooters have a maximum rider weight of 100kg.
