The Dualtron Thunder electric scooter (DT) is one of the most famous original high-power electric scooters, and for good reason. As the successor to the Dualtron Ultra, the Dualtron Thunder was the world’s fastest electric scooter for a long time, far more powerful than any other electric scooter. The DT has powerful BLDC motors that develop a total of 1000W of power. The scooter is also equipped with a rubber bushing-cartridge suspension offering five different stiffness options and ABS hydraulic disc brakes. Despite this wild power, thanks to its large 60V/35Ah/2100Wh battery, the Dualtron Thunder electric scooter can cover up to 120km on a single charge.
If you’re looking for the most fun way to get around, the Dualtron Thunder electric scooter is it. This scooter was built to be insanely, even frighteningly fast, and was created to be the top electric scooter in all speed categories. Compared to previous Dualtrons, the DT introduces a completely new level of customization for the suspension. Now, it’s possible to set the suspension level in three different positions – high, medium, or low (close to the ground). The suspension cartridges are interchangeable and come with different possible stiffness levels. The stiffness of the suspension also depends on the temperature and the rider’s weight – the lighter the rider and the warmer the air, the softer the cartridge that is suitable. All Minimotors Dualtron electric scooters come with medium softness cartridges in the box, and cartridges of a different stiffness can be purchased as an accessory.
MINIMOTORS DUALTRON THUNDER ELECTRIC SCOOTER – SUPERSCOOTER
Minimotors is arguably the oldest electric scooter brand, having started as early as 1999. Thanks to its extensive experience, by 2015 it became the creator of the first dual-drive electric scooter, naming the machine Dualtron, which for many has become synonymous with “super scooter.” The Dualtron Thunder electric scooter, launched in 2018, was radically different from anything seen before, especially in a market previously dominated by models like the Xiaomi M365 and earlier Inokim scooters. The main design principles of the DT were safety, performance, speed, and durability/quality.
Maintenance and repair have also been made as simple as possible by Minimotors. The scooter’s construction allows for the electric scooter’s wheel along with the tire to be removable, making it easier to change large 4-inch wide tubeless 90/65-6.5 / 11-inch air tires. The large tires also help ensure safety at speeds over 50 km/h. Like all Minimotors Dualtron electric scooters, the Dualtron Thunder is equipped with a foldable handlebar to ensure the scooter’s compactness.
PERFORMANCE
According to the law, the manufacturer’s speed for an electric scooter is 25 km/h, which can be achieved in just a few seconds. The maximum carrying capacity of the DT electric scooter is set by the manufacturer at 120 kg. It takes 20 hours to fully charge the large 2100Wh battery with the charger that comes with the electric scooter. Fortunately, Minimotors engineers have considered this, and with a fast charger, charging only takes about 5.3 hours. The DT electric scooter is also equipped with front and rear lights that illuminate the road surface near the scooter. Additional lights are needed to illuminate further down the road. Since the Dualtron Thunder electric scooter is more akin to a motorcycle than a typical scooter, wearing a helmet is very strongly recommended.
